A Building Services Consultancy is looking to add a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to their team due to an increase in workload.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is for someone who has experience as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in the Building Services Industry

• As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you carry out detailed designs of Mechanical Services
• Helping to generate repeat business through building relationships with clients. – Be client-facing and involved in all stages of the projects from inception to completion. – Ability to manage projects and teams to deliver to and exceed client expectations. Passionate about creative and innovative design.
• Management of Engineers and Technicians in the production of calculations, design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client
• liaison, liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and any other relevant duty.
• Produce design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and ensure progress against the project brief.
• Check calculations and production of detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project briefs and customer requirements. – Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.

Requirements:

• You will previously have worked in a Building Services Consultancy or Contractor as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer
• BTEC/ONC/HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• A CIBSE professional registration (CEng)
• Understanding and experience of working with AutoCAD and design software’s such as Hevacomp, Revit,
• Confident communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas. –
• Experience in contributing to bids, proposals, and tender specifications.
