Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our Alternative Provision team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals and will possess the ability to communicate effectively with children of various ages. This role is perfect for individuals who have experience in tutoring or education, particularly those with a background in special education (SEN).

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Assess students’ progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student confidence and motivation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to enhance the educational experience for all students.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and their families.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, demonstrating patience and understanding of diverse learning styles.
  • Strong educational background, preferably with experience in tutoring or teaching roles.
  • Knowledge of special education practices is advantageous, enabling support for students with varying needs.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a love for learning through innovative teaching methods.
