What you’ll be doing

Reporting directly to the Lead Product Owner, you’ll:

  • Define, manage, and drive the product vision, design, and requirements to user story level.

  • Manage agile delivery to ensure successful outcomes for the business.

  • Drive product optimisation, taking commercial direction from Lead Product Owners and business stakeholders.

  • Maintain the product vision and roadmap, owning the success of your delivery stream.

  • Prioritise and manage the product backlog, aligning with commercial KPIs and business needs.

  • Own requirements using agile frameworks such as User Story Mapping, Epic & Feature hierarchies, and JIRA management.

  • Define acceptable quality levels, championing iterative, incremental delivery without over-engineering.

  • Support testing and deployment to ensure high-quality production delivery.

  • Align with project budgets and commercial KPIs.

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and communication for your products.

  • Manage release and go-live dates for assigned products.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for the development team, supporting queries and issue resolution.

  • Manage product risks and issues, ensuring mitigation and effective escalation within governance frameworks.

  • Track and monitor return on investment and business benefits for all releases.

  • Take ownership of personal development and career growth.

  • Identify and manage risks in line with the company risk framework.

  • Champion agile frameworks (Scrum and Kanban), promoting best practices within the team and among stakeholders.


What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, delivering successful initiatives within agile frameworks.

  • Expertise in backlog management, user story writing, and using tools like JIRA.

  • Ability to define and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap, aligned with business goals.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align teams.

We have a unique opportunity to join the Domestic & General Product team as a Product Owner for Bright.

Bright is D&G’s flagship greenfield platform designed to deliver best-in-class repair management for our customers around the world. It’s a complex, multi-faceted platform that will redefine how our business manages repairs with both customers and repair partners alike. With its ambitious scope and strategic importance, Bright is a cornerstone of our future success.

You will lead a dynamic squad focused on developing and launching a suite of innovative solutions to meet the demands of our business.

You must have strong technical capabilities to support engineering decisions to ensure our business processes are delivered effectively and are scalable.

You will navigate a landscape of diverse stakeholders and operational complexity whilst balancing competing priorities to make a tangible impact to millions customers lives during a stressful moment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional squad in identifying opportunities, conducting product discovery, and driving the delivery of innovative solutions.
  • Develop deep insights into user needs and behaviours, establishing feedback loops that help inform product decisions and deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business, including Engineering, Data Science, UX/UI, Operations and Service to define product requirements, prioritise features, and drive product roadmap execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, managing expectations, and soliciting feedback to iterate and refine product features.
  • Conduct research and competitive analysis to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to the complex world of repair management.
  • Alongside tracking progress against OKRs, define and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of product enhancements, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement and optimization.
  • Immerse yourself in our business processes and distil clarity from complex as-is processes to design the to-be future state.
  • Become a subject-matter expert on the product and its users and develop trusted opinions to support the product evolution.
  • Drive ways of working improvements and foster a great working environment.


Skills and experience:

  • Proven track record in technical product management, with a focus on designing and launching innovative products through data-driven product development.
  • Comfortable with complex backend and frontend systems and supporting the engineers to create scalable technical solutions.
  • Able to understand strategic priorities for the business and subsequently assess opportunities and challenges for the squad.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience and level of comfort in presenting to senior leaders, and capable of inspiring teams and stakeholders.
  • Agile and adaptable, comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering value from the products that the team produce – linking back to OKRs and wider business objectives.
  • Familiarity with agile product development methodologies and cross-functional team leadership.

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our team based at the Global Centre of Excellence for X-Ray in Royston.

As Product Owner you will be an instrumental part of transforming our X-ray Inspection product portfolio to deliver exceptional solutions to our customers in the Food and Pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. You will help to ensure our products are safe, compliant, and available in different regions, as well be responsible for any quality issues and engineering changes. You will help to shape the key features are drive a global collaboration to ensure products are delivered on time and to exceptional quality using our lifecycle management process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable as Product Owner for an Agile value stream executing a Scrum approach.
  • Ownership of the backlog and technical support to the team.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of New Product Development programmes to industrial levels of quality in accordance with the Mettler-Toledo Product Lifecycle Management process.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of engineering changes to industrial levels of quality in accordance with the Engineering Change Management process.
  • Ensure released products deliver the required cost, sales performance, customer satisfaction, production yield and service performance. Achieve this by regular monitoring of KPIs, triggering timely actions to identify and address gaps or issues that arise.
  • Own the development roadmap for the platforms, including Engineering change requests, customer quality issues, projects and act as first responder in response to critical issues.
  • Accountable for the compliance, manufacturing readiness and validation status of each product variant.
  • Plan the end of life of product variants and the replacement / upgrade path for legacy systems.
  • Drive ongoing collaboration with counterparts within the Product Inspection Division (in USA & China) and Mettler Toledo Marketing Organisations globally.


What You Need to Succeed

  • Degree qualified in engineering or a relevant technical management discipline.
  • Project management experience in complex electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience leading at least one full project to develop and launch a new product.
  • Experience as product owner with responsibility for leading post-launch activities across sales, marketing, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality and service.
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end business process, from customer order to product commissioning
  • Project / product management experience spanning at least two generations of product.
  • Excellent understanding of multi-disciplinary product development.
  • Experience of an Agile Project Management execution model ideally in a hardware environment. Agile scrum master or product owner qualifications a benefit.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
