MIG Welder Job Description

Hours: 7am to 4.30 Monday to Thursday and 7am to 12pm Fridays

Pay: £14.50 to £15.50 dependant on experience

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our dynamic client based in Aston. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to work with various materials, including mild steel. This role requires proficiency in using both power and hand tools to assemble components accurately. The MIG Welder will play a crucial part in ensuring high-quality production standards while adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Production weld metal components according to specifications and blueprints.
• Assemble parts and structures using welding techniques, primarily MIG welding.
• Perform stick welding as required for specific projects.
• Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
• Conduct inspections of welded joints to ensure structural integrity and quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality control.

Skills

• Proficient in MIG welding.
• Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly related to welding equipment and processes.
• Familiarity with sheet metal work and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Basic maths skills for precise measurements and calculations during fabrication.
• Experience with stick welding is an advantage but not essential.
• Competence in using various power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high-quality workmanship at all times.
