Job Description

We’re hiring for a Production Supervisor to join a leading engineering manufacturer of high-grade fittings at their modernised site based in Hyde, Tameside. Your role will involve supervising all shop floor employees to ensure all production expectations are met.

What’s on offer?

• £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
• Performance related bonus scheme (4% of salary)
• Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:15pm / Friday 1:00pm finish

What will you be doing as a Production Supervisor?

• Leading the department to ensure productivity targets are met in line with customer demand; supervising and motivating the team
• Acting as the main link between sales and production
• Providing a level of customer service support to the planning/sales teams
• Helping identify lean activities to ensure efficiency savings
• Liaising with all internal company departments as and when required, to ensure the smooth running of the department
• Liaising with appropriate Managers where production problems threaten effectiveness or efficiency
• Carrying out appraisals and training for direct reports

What do you need?

• Previous experience as a Production Supervisor / Team Leader / Manager
• A background within mechanical engineering is preferred but not essential
• Lean manufacturing / Kaizen experience would be advantageous
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departmental lines
• A commitment to continuous personal and professional development
