The Opportunity
This role is ment to be a temporary role of 18 months to help support and manage all purchases needed for Medicom Manufacturing London in the new factory. The incumbent is directly under the president of the site.
Responsibilities
- Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of equipment for the new factory, aligning with project timelines and budget constraints.
- Supplier Selection and Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors, negotiating favourable terms to secure quality equipment.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor and control procurement budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders and ensuring financial efficiency in all purchasing activities.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure procured equipment meets the required specifications and standards.
- Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate potential supply chain risks, ensuring continuity in procurement processes.
- Inventory Coordination: Work with inventory and logistics teams to schedule deliveries, manage lead times, and maintain proper documentation for all equipment purchases.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to align purchasing activities with the overall project requirements.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements, providing accurate and detailed reports to senior management
Qualifications
- Experience in managing CAPEX procurement
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, purchasing or operations
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing equipment purchasing
- Technical Expertise :
Industrial Manufacturing Experience: Proven experience in industrial manufacturing processes, with a solid understanding of production systems, equipment, and workflows.
- Project Management Skills :
Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, execute, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Problem-Solving: Skilled at identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions to ensure project success.
Attention to Detail: Ensures projects meet technical, financial, and quality standards
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to changing priorities.
- Analytical Mindset: Data-driven decision-maker who can analyze metrics to optimize processes.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to interface effectively with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Works well in a collaborative environment, fostering teamwork across departments and geographies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Adept at maintaining productive relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong Negotiation Skills: Capable of negotiating favorable terms with suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
