The Opportunity
Medivet Hendon are looking for a recognised specialist, or advanced veterinarian practitioner in Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue and Neurosurgery to develop our referral service in Medivet Hendon, North London.
Hendon is a first opinion and referral 24 hour hospital in North London and currently has one advanced certificate holding surgeon offering routine orthopaedics and a range of advanced soft tissue surgeries. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who is interested in partnership and taking control of their own caseload, will be coming into a 12 vet hospital with a range of very experienced colleagues, including a medicine certificate holding Branch Partner.
Medivet Hendon 24-Hour is a bustling hospital, it has recently been recognised as one of London’s best Veterinary practices with a range of clientele. With relocation of London Vet Specialists to West London, there is significant scope to build up a thriving referral service.

The hospital boasts outstanding equipment including; MRI, CT, flexible and rigid video endoscopy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, full advanced orthopaedic kit and on site laboratory equipment.
This is an Immediate start available, 4 day working week, plus 1 in 6 full weekends

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:
  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  • Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  • Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.Liaising with local clinics and building a case-load portfolio
Your Skills and Experience
  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Surgical certificate or above
  • Ability to perform TPLO/TTAs or equivalent, spinals, fracture repair and complex soft tissue (eg. perineal urethrostomy, TECA, BOAS, thoracotomy)
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
