Working with a wide range of young people, including looked after children, care leavers, parents with babies, and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, we provide quality accommodation and one-to-one mentoring support to guide young people towards independence.

About The Role

The purpose of this role is to support a range of young people (16-19) with the transition into adulthood and promote independent living, allowing them to personally grow and reach their potential.

This role will involve 24.5 hours shifts (9am-9.30am following day), 2-3 per week on a 3 week rolling rota. Some weekend shifts will be required. You are paid £237.50 for each shift, meaning your total earnings will be around £27,000- £30,000 annually, with overtime also available!

Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Supporting between 1-5 young people, helping and training them on how to complete everyday life tasks/skills such as cooking, budgeting, securing employment, improving their education and more.
  • Encourage individuals to get involved with the community and any local initiatives.
  • Complete basic Health and Safety checks on the home.
  • Work in partnership with other agencies and support the young people to attend meetings with other professionals. You will be required to attend admission and planning meetings; and attend Looked after Children Reviews ensuring all relevant paperwork is complete.
  • Complete monthly progress reports on each individual, alongside other ad-hoc administrative duties.

About You/Requirements

Even better… Whilst having some experience in working with children and/or young people is important, it is not essential to be in this exact field. We are also happy to consider candidates with some experience in other child/young people related fields, with the right attitude and personality, as that’s what’s important to us. We’re looking for people who are reliable, have a great work ethic, want to impact the lives of others, are good team players and strong communicators.

Candidates MUST be able to pass a DBS check and obtain satisfactory references before starting with the company.
