Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. Monday-Friday 3:15-6:15pm initially for 6 weeks but could be extended. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in various educational settings. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities are welcoming and safe for all occupants. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality cleaning services are crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including offices, restrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces.
  • Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment to ensure effective sanitisation and maintenance of surfaces.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the management promptly.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to maintain consistency in service delivery.
  • Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and well-organised for efficient use.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations while performing cleaning tasks.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects as required, including deep cleans or post-event clean-ups.

Experience

  • Previous experience in commercial cleaning is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with various cleaning techniques and products is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

7. To maintain an adequate stock of cleaning materials from approved suppliers and to ensure cloakrooms are stocked with soap, towels etc. To undertake emergency cleaning (soiling of toilets, sickness, floods etc.) as necessary.

9. To be aware of and adhere to applicable rules, regulations, legislation and procedures e.g. Council (Equal Opportunities Policy/Code of Conduct) and national legislation (Health and Safety, Data Protection).

10. To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the School.

8. To be responsible for your own continuing self-development, undertaking training as appropriate.

9. To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as required.
