Job Description
We are recruiting for the below School Swimming Instructor hours:
Huddersfield Leisure Centre:
Tuesday: 08:30-12:00
Tuesday: 12:45-15:15
Holmfirth Pool and Fitness Centre:
Wednesdays: 08:30-12:00
Spen Valley Leisure Centre:
Wednesday: 08:30-12:00
Wednesday: 12:45-15:15
KAL’s Vision is to improve health & wellbeing, with a key element of this being to create the opportunity for every child in Kirklees to learn to swim.
KAL School Swimming Instructors play a crucial role to improving children’s lives within Kirklees. With over 100 schools and 5000 swimmers in the programme, many of these children would not get the chance to learn this life saving skill without having the opportunity to swim with KAL School Swimming.

KAL want to promote and create life-long participation in physical activity, inspire and encourage future generations and deliver a high-quality, high-achieving school swimming programme, working in partnership with local schools.
KAL deliver their award-winning programme, to meet the requirement of the National Curriculum; Swim 25m, swim a range of strokes and perform a safe self-rescue. KAL have consistently delivered standards above the national average.
We are looking for outstanding instructors who are passionate, enthusiastic & willing to go above and beyond to make every child’s school swimming lesson memorable.
Requirements of the role
· Hold the Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification
· Hold the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (or ability to complete upon employment)
· Enhanced DBS
· Positive mindset with a passion for working with children.
Responsibilities of the role
· Plan and deliver high quality school swimming sessions.
· Update the progress of the swimmers.
· Accurately record baseline assessments at the start of term and report on the national curriculum statistics for each school.
· Attend termly team meetings and annual staff training days.
· Work with a collaborative approach with schools.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14.32 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 18 per week
