The Project:
Birmingham Curzon Street railway station is the planned northern terminus of High Speed 2 on the fringe of Birmingham city centre, England. Birmingham Curzon Street Station, which will be net zero carbon in operation, will be the first brand new intercity terminus station built in Britain since the 19th Century. The new railway will connect Birmingham to London Euston via Birmingham Interchange and Old Oak Common. Curzon Street will have seven terminal platforms and is due for completion in 2028. This opportunity would focus on the Contract Administration and carrying out reporting

Responsibilities:
  • Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub- contractors
  • Administer incentivisation arrangements as appropriate
  • Support the assessment of EWN’s and compensation events
  • Provide regular cash flow forecast of expenditure for package
  • Report expenditure against the package budget on a monthly basis
  • Support the change management process in conjunction with other functions
  • Input to the monthly consolidated project-wide cost / expenditure report
  • Assess potential contractor and supplier claims and make recommendations for settlement.
  • Finalise contractor’s accounts and close out contracts for the project.
  • Raising consultant, supplier or contractor instructions as necessary for signature by approved parties.
  • Report on the expenditure of financial contingency built into the relevant packages.
  • Provide schedules of rates and commercial input to tender documentation
  • Undertake cost analysis of bid returns
  • Assist the package project manager in resolving all financial commercial issues arising in the tender return
  • Support the negotiation of two stage fixed price for relevant tenders
  • Receive and review monthly valuations from contractors and prepare recommendation for signature by the project manager and designer
  • Review all instructions issued by the project manager for cost implications
  • Support the change control process and assist in identifying the cost implications of any proposed changes
You’ll also have:
  • Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Leading value engineer and cost exercises
  • Ability to build established and effective client relationships.
  • Proficient in use of Cemar
  • Ability to encourages and empowers others, providing praise & recognition of efforts.
  • Evidence of working towards membership of MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Construction management expertise.
  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.

Money is a key vertical within MSM. It is an exciting but complex vertical with multiple channels offering a wide range of products and partnerships to manage.

This is a varied role allowing you to work on strategic initiatives working with a variety of different business functions to build out our proposition at pace as well as delivering strong commercial performance for the vertical. It gives an opportunity to collaborate, develop strategic thinking, project planning, commercial acumen and analytical skills.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR DAY

This role offers the right candidate the opportunity to expand their commercial knowledge and gain comprehensive exposure to all levels of our business.

We are looking for someone with strong commercial skills and the ability to hit the ground running. They need to be innovative, dynamic and forward thinking, whilst still appreciating the day to day needs of a strong trading rhythm.

You will be working cross functionally with multiple different teams and enjoy needing to influence without direct management responsibility. You will have had experience in working cross functionally before, managing strategic partnerships and have strong stakeholder management skills.

  • Support the day-to-day performance and trading of the Money vertical.

  • Understand trading performance vs. targets. Identify and communicate gaps & risks.

  • Implement action plans to address areas of performance concern or opportunities while capturing the potential revenue/trading impact.

  • Translate data into actionable insight to generate growth for providers and MSM

  • Lead commercial and contract negotiations with our partners.

  • Working closely with our marketing teams to optimize performance whilst identifying grow opportunities.

  • Build close working relationships with wider internal teams such as product, finance, risk, compliance and operations to delivery financial performance.

  • Build strong relationships with our Money partners, being the external face of Mony Group.

  • Lead the initiatives/activities/projects required to deliver channel growth as set each quarter as the team collaborates on the quarterly focus required to deliver our overall annual operating plans.

  • Sell promotional placements across Moneysupermarket and Quidco to Money partners.

Dragados is recruiting for two Senior Commercial Manager roles in Euston to oversees and manage the cost management and contract management aspects of the project from initiation to close-out.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the finalisation of contractor’s accounts and close out contractor contracts for the project.
  • Manage the process to raise consultant, supplier or contractor instructions as necessary for signature by approved parties.
  • Manage the financial contingency built into packages and ensure that contingency allowances reflect the current programme position.


Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of all aspects of commercial management.
  • Familiarity with various forms of contract.
  • Knowledge of integrated reporting.
  • Knowledge of IT systems relevant to Commercial Control.
