Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Registered Nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, exceptional critical thinking skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Senior ICU nurse, you will play a vital role in monitoring and managing patients with severe and life-threatening conditions, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions continuously, responding promptly to changes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosages and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care standards.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients.
Experience
- A valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse.
- Previous experience in an ICU or critical care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in critical care nursing.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £48,033.00-£55,873.00 per year
