Senior Production Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive Senior Production Supervisor experienced within the poultry industry to support our team. This is a hands on role and you will be expected to be on the “factory floor” overseeing at all times.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Day to day control and co-ordination of the workforce within the processing and packing department
• Encourage the team to follow product quality procedures whilst ensuring waste is minimized.
• Promote and ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
• Driving the KPI’s for your area of responsibility. Challenge and motivate the team to deliver measures in a consistent manner.
• Actively identify continuous improvements where greater efficiency, hygiene, quality and safety could be achieved and report to the Factory Manager.
• Complete and take accountability for checks and tasks, including CCP’s.
• Take accountability for employees training, by ensuring they are skilled in their role and have been signed off against relevant procedures.
• Promptly escalate issues including breakdowns, which are impacting production and seek corrective action / resolutions.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled in accurately and in a timely manner, for all relevant tasks carried out.

Requirements & Skills:

• Previous experience as a Production Supervisor
• Knowledge and understanding of the Poultry industry
• Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
• Good understanding of UK Food legislation
• Experience in reporting on key production metrics
• Proficient in MS Office or other software
• Excellent communication skills & good leadership abilities
• Ability to motivate a team
• Attention to detail as well as strong decision making abilities

Hours of work Monday to Friday. Daily hours will vary to meet the needs of production (Mondays and Tuesdays are our busiest/ longest days, Friday is a non production day). Approx. 45 hour week.
