Job Title: Service Controller

Salary: £38,000 – £42,000
Location: Exeter
Hours: Monday – Friday, day shift

The client is looking to recruit an experienced Service Controller with fantastic customer service skills and an excellent telephone manner to work within their busy and well-established company. Your duties will be supporting the service departments administration/reception and always ensuring complete customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a service advisor or a similar role

The Service Controller job role:

  • Organising engineers schedules
  • Planning and the allocation of work to engineers
  • Be present for the depot Audits/Checks
  • Work with engineers to resolve technical issues
  • Support the service team and manager to help with customer issues
  • Schedule training needs for department
  • Support the Service Manager with customers’ end-to-end journey.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shifts
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000

My client, a large Tool, Plant, and Powered Access hire company operating nationwide, is looking for a dedicated Service Controller to join their team.

The Role of Service Controller Includes:

  • Handling Enquiries: Responding to hire and service enquiries via telephone, email, and our online ordering system.
  • Breakdown Management: Managing calls from customers and arranging for engineers to attend breakdowns promptly.
  • Job Card Management: Updating job cards on the internal database and allocating jobs efficiently.
  • Machine Availability: Checking the availability of machines and ensuring their status is always up-to-date in our systems.
  • Coordination: Collaborating with the engineering and transport teams to ensure the correct machines are ready and delivered to customer sites.
  • Customer Service: Communicating effectively with colleagues and providing a helpful and friendly point of contact for depot enquiries.

Ideal Candidate forService Controller :

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the Plant, Powered Access, Tool, or Material Handling industries.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Organisational Skills: Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About your new company

My client is a global fleet maintenance company who have been stablished for over 200 years. They are the leader in new innovative technologies and ensures their customers are put first. Due to their huge success and growth over many years they are actively seeking a skilled Service Controller to join their team.

About your new Service Controller role:

  • Effectively deal with all customer service enquiries, advising and actioning accordingly, taking ownership of the problem from start to finish and be the point of contact for customers.
  • Answer phones & welcome customers to Service Centre
  • Taking / logging incoming work from customers
  • Create job cards / notifications via SAP, and identify / order parts for engineers.
  • Plan engineers daily workload, effectively and efficiently
  • Prepare and provide estimates to customer and subsequently follow up to ensure whenever possible their conversion
  • Carry out admin tasks as required for the benefit of the service operation
  • Plan and efficiently manage machines in the region on contract maintenance, including maintenance of the contract planner
  • Follow up service visits with a phone call to ensure satisfaction
  • Process engineer job sheets for correct and accurate completion and record non-compliance or poor completion.
  • Maintain Department WIP to acceptable levels as instructed in conjunction with the Centralised Billing Dept.
  • Assist in the organisation of onsite meetings to ensure senior management and customers are received, handled and catered for in the way they expect
  • Willingly carry out any other duties deemed appropriate by the company.
  • Assist with H&S aspects as required

The successful Service Controller will receive:
