We are now recruiting for a Service Engineer . Responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of Mallaghan Ground Support Equipment.

You will be responsible for leading critical power projects and therefore must have had experience in man management and leadership. The individual must be customer focused at all times, must be prepared to work within and as part of a team, be able to interact with colleagues, management at all levels, clients and other trades in a professional and tactful manner, and in doing so present a positive image of the Company.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Install and commission Mallaghan Ground Support Equipment.
  • Maintain and service our product range.
  • Fix any problems that are within warranty and report any warranty issues back to office.
  • Provide supervisory and technical support to colleagues and communicate with staff at all levels.
  • Ensure that guidelines and standards of work expected by Mallaghan are understood and met.
  • Ensure that follow-up work requirements are referred back to the appropriate staff within Mallaghan to enable necessary action and recommendations to clients.
  • Set a good example to colleagues by observing and obeying all company rules and regulations, complying with all site regulations, and safeguarding Company property.
  • Set a good example to colleagues by completing all necessary Company documentation punctually and in accordance with any guidelines or schedules issued (including Time Sheets, Staff Expense Claims, site reports, etc.).
  • Provide support and co-operation to the management and to colleagues, and be prepared and willing to help and contribute to the success of the company at all times;
  • Attend all training courses and meetings as required by Mallaghan.
  • Observe and adhere to company health & safety guidelines and contribute to a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Adherence to our ISO 9001 Quality management system.

To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven technical competence and experience with equipment maintenance. (E)
  • The ability to read and interpret technical documents such as engineering documents, operation and maintenance instructions. (E)
  • Previous experience of working within a service organisation. (E)
  • Relevant industry experience or experience from a similar industry and ability to learn new systems. (D)
  • A qualification in an engineering or IT discipline, or hands on engineering experience in electro-mechanical engineering. (D)

Job Description

I am excited to be supporting an established, successful company who are a leading provider in the design and installation of a unique engineering solution to many key sectors. They now require an additional Service Engineer to join their friendly workshop in Bedford, Bedfordshire to work Monday to Friday, being directly involved in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of their bespoke engineering solutions, along with the opportunity to suggest improvements.

The successful Service Engineer will play a key role in the continued development of the equipment, with your time split between the workshop and out visiting customer sites, so flexibility towards spending some time away from home is essential, in return, you will receive an attractive salary, additional payments should you be required to attend customers overseas (very rare) and up to 8% annual bonus.

Service Engineer Requirements:

  • Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship program and hold an electrical engineering qualification to Level 3 as a minimum.
  • Ideally hold 18th Edition.
  • Have proven experience working with PLC’s, single/3 phase systems and panel building.
  • Strong mechanical engineering skills would be beneficial.
  • Enjoys solving engineering problems.
  • Flexible towards spending some time away from home.
  • Full driving licence.

Job Summary

The Service Tech Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the functionality and accuracy of electronic and analytical instruments through testing, calibration, and validation processes. This role requires maintaining multiple test stations controlled via PC-based programs and providing service for Keysight products as well as third-party products.

Responsibilities:
