Setter Operator Inspector – Heat Treatment
Job Description
MB Aerospace Newton Abbot Ltd is an international group providing complex engineering solutions to some of the key names in the Aerospace and Defence market. Operating from sites close to our key customers in North America, Asia and Europe, the MB Aerospace group provides advanced technological solutions to the Aerospace Newton Abbot Ltd and Defence industry, leveraging an in-depth knowledge of fabrications, machining and the global supply chain to support complex aero-engine component manufacture and repair.
The Role
To provide cleaning, heat treatment and brazing for components using a range of furnaces, equipment and special processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload furnaces in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Attach thermocouples and run furnaces in compliance with SOPs and Company Procedures.
- Supply and machine test samples, as required completing relevant documentation and provide laboratory test pieces as required.
- Maintaining furnace and equipment records in compliance with Company Management Systems.
- Carry out leak rate checks on components.
- Set fixtures for relevant jobs/machines replacing contact electrodes when required.
- Calibrate thermocouples, instruments and recorders.
- Complete furnace survey in accordance with customer and NADCAP requirements.
- Operate CNC and conventional machines and inspect output to produce components in line with A EXP Inspector Job Description.
- Other duties as required compatible with this job and the employee’s individual skills at the direction of the supervisor/manager.
Job Requirements
- NVQ 2 – Mechanical Engineering.
- MB Aerospace – Pedestrian Forklift Certificate
- 6 months – 1 year working with similar furnaces and processes.
- Good understanding of the operation planning and SOPs (standard operating procedures)
- Numeracy, communication skills, basic IT and Problem-Solving ability.
