Hours of Work: 42.5 hours per week, Permanent Full-Time – 05:45 to 15:00 Monday to Friday with potential OT available after shift, and on Saturdays.
Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour basic.

- Working within the Despatch team to ensure the movement of trailers is carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
- Carry out start up checks, highlighting and reporting any issues.
- Connecting and disconnecting trailers.
- Liaising with different departments and coordinating sub-contractors’ vehicles.
- Ensure you fully understand and comply with company requirements regarding Health and Safety and Hygiene, including PPE.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- To provide trailers for loading & remove when loaded.
- To supervise yard activity, and position vehicles when not in use safely in the yard.
- To check temperatures of all trailers loaded on bays or on electrical points.
- To provide a list of trailers present in the yard to the Despatch Manager.
- Always operate the shunter with care and attention and in line with Full compliance and strict adherence to all Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality Standards laid out in departmental and site policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Experience and Qualification:
- Class 1 driving licence. (C+E)
- Able to provide proof of right to work in the UK.
- Must be able to reliably commute to place of work – Off Cambridge Road, Cardington. Near Bedford Town Football club
