Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled roofer with or without experience as a Solar Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for renewable energy and be keen to develop into an exciting career as part of a thriving operational team of specialists. As a Solar Installer, you will be responsible for the installation of solar panel systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring that all installations meet safety standards and client specifications and be able to demonstrate expertise in required respects of roofing on slate, tiles and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Install solar panel systems on rooftops and ground-mounted structures.
• Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement of solar panels.
• Use hand tools and power tools to assemble and secure solar components.
• Perform electrical connections for solar systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes.
• Collaborate with team members to complete installations efficiently and safely.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all job sites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues that may arise during the process.
• Assist with setting out and preparing sites for installation as necessary.

Skills

• Confident and experience of working at Height, whilst moving and handling
• Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to understand complex systems.
• Proficient in working with varying roof types such as slate, tiles and fibre cement / composite roofing and cladding
• Proficient in welding techniques for securing solar components when required.
• Experience in layout design to plans and preparing sites for installation purposes.
• Basic electrical knowledge related to solar installations is highly advantageous but not essential
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction and installation tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £32,000.00 per year
