The Sales Engineer will be the technical expert that works with our highest-value customers. You will keep your skills sharp by developing demos and proof of concepts. This role will have significant input on the direction of the product by bringing back information from customers and working with the product and engineering teams to architect solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the trusted technical contact for our customers.

  • Create and showcase demos to prospective customers.

  • Work with high-value customers to architect the integration of Dolby technologies into their services.

  • Collect requirements for new features and champion them internally during the design and implementation.

  • Define and drive customer POCs to prove the value of Dolby products.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.

  • 2+ Years of Experience.

  • Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: JavaScript, React, Swift, Objective-C, or Java

  • Knowledge and experience in modern API-driven web architectures. Demonstratable understanding of web technologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, and time management skills.

Nice to have:

  • Video streaming knowledge (ie. codecs, streaming protocols and standards, advanced networking)

Your role at Dynatrace

What you will be focusing on as a Solutions Engineer

  • Help clients evaluate the Dynatrace Observability & Security Platform
  • Partner with sales representatives to identify new sales opportunities as well incremental sales opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Partner with our local partners to also help identify new sales opportunities as well incremental sales opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Provide technical leadership in the Discovery, Solution Evaluation, and Solution Proposal stages of the opportunity sales cycle.
  • Take ownership of solution evaluations and Proofs-of-Concept in support of sales opportunities either directly or through channel partners.
  • Maintain and continuously develop technical knowledge.
  • Share knowledge across the team and continuously develop and enhance personal and team capabilities.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management for enhancements needed in the market and also escalation required to resolve the technical issues.
  • As thought leader in the market and local region, support key marketing events. Either at Dynatrace sponsored industry events or partner sponsored events: ensure the top demo is delivered by you and the team at demo booths. And on the main stage deliver keynote presentations.
  • Work with local Sales and Solutions Engineering leadership to identify learning/development opportunities for you and the local team that helps maintain the companies leadership position in the market.

Qualifications
To ensure your success as a Solutions Engineer at Dynatrace, you need to be an ambitious, confident and self-motivated individual, with previous SE experience or another technical customer facing role. You need to be passionate about innovative technology, technical sales and articulating value to customers and prospects. In addition, we are also looking for:

  • Ideally 5 years plus experience supporting Sales teams in a Presales roles. Be able to demonstrate a track record leading to sales success
  • Excellent communication & presentational skills, both virtual & in person
  • The ability to position, explain and present the value of the Dynatrace offering, tying this into the prospect/customers key business and strategic goals, including ROI calculations for example
  • An excellent team player, with the ability to work across all disciplines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues to produce a working outcome and be able to manage this process.
  • Ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously, work with a number of different sales people and support other SEs where needed.
  • Must have a strong desire to grow professionally, adapt to an ever-changing environment and are coachable.
  • Experience of working within or with a software sales team

Desired Experience & Skills:

  • Experience with technologies and techniques around Observability including OpenTelemetry
  • Experiences with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes/Openshift
  • Experience with Cloud environments like Azure, AWS, GCP
  • Knowledge and practical experiences in modern programing languages and frameworks like TypeScript/JavaScript including React framework, Java, C#/.NET, Go, SQL etc. as well as in web technologies
  • Experiences with DevOps and SRE methodologies like CI/CD pipelines, SLOs, error budgets, blue/green deployments, etc.
  • Experience to administrate and operate typical OS’s including Windows & Linux on the command line
  • Furthermore, knowledge in log analytics, security and automation is highly appreciated
  • Must be fluent in English

What’s the role?

As a Dynatrace Solution Engineer, you will be a key member of the Dynatrace sales engine and will be responsible for providing excellent technical support to the sales team. You will be the expert on Dynatrace and all facets of Advanced Observability. Within this exciting role, you will be responsible for executing great demos which demonstrate the Dynatrace unique approach in solving the customer’s pain, executing and managing POCs onsite and remote, building key relationships with Dynatrace’s customers and completing RFIs & RFPs. You will also work across teams including Dynatrace’s innovation labs, Dynatrace’s Expert Services consultants, CSMs and marketing.


About you:

To ensure your success as a Solution Engineer at Dynatrace, you need to be an ambitious, confident and self-motivated individual, with previous SE experience or another technical customer facing role.   • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time


Responsibilities
:

  • Evangelize Dynatrace’s product offerings during international trade shows and at key customer account meetings to promote new and expanded business.
  • Partner with sales representatives to identify new sales opportunities as well as incremental sales opportunities within existing accounts.
  • As part of the solution engineering team participate in proof of concept (PoC) creation and cloud architecture discussions, leading the technical solution evaluation portion in support of sales opportunities either directly or through channel partners for multiple POCs.
  • Present Dynatrace’s vision to our customers C-suite executives.
  • Provide technical guidance in the Discovery, Solution Evaluation, and Solution Proposal stages of the opportunity sales cycle.
  • Present on-stage demonstrations providing insight and context to our customers during key marketing events.
  • Either at Dynatrace sponsored industry events or partner sponsored events, ensure key demonstrations are delivered by you or a team member at demonstration booths.
  • Gather, qualify and provide feedback from customers to Product Management to improve Dynatrace’s market share and meet the market needs.
  • Build best practices and share knowledge the team to continuously develop and enhance both your personal and team capabilities.
  • Work with local Sales and Sales Engineering leadership to identify learning/ development opportunities for you and the local team to maintain Dynatrace’s leadership position in the market.
  • Create and modify Dynatrace template presentations, in order to attend the specific demands of each customer.
  • Not only work with internal sales team, but also with partners, supporting their team in the customers and being a technical point of contact for them (trusted advisor/technical coach).
  • Position might be filled at a higher level based on candidate experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or experience required.
  • 3 years of experience within the observability space. Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with programming / scripting side technologies such as Java, .NET, PHP, Go, Node.js and database.
  • Advance knowledge of Operating Systems (OS) including Windows and Linux.
  • Experience with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices Knowledge with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Experience with modern technologies like containers, Kubernetes / OpenShift, Serverless functions, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with automation like Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
