We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef with expertise in Mediterranean cuisine and pizza preparation to join our team . As the Sous Chef, you will play a key role in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and supporting the Head Chef in delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Preparation & Execution:
  • Assist in designing, planning, and executing a menu inspired by Mediterranean flavours, including wood-fired, Neapolitan, or traditional pizzas.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, with consistent quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Management:
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and teamwork during service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen in line with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Inventory & Cost Management:
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and minimize waste to control food costs.
  • Source quality ingredients, ensuring authenticity and freshness for Mediterranean dishes.
  • Pizza Specialization:
  • Oversee pizza dough preparation, stretching, topping, and cooking processes for authentic results.
  • Operate and maintain pizza ovens, ensuring proper techniques for consistency.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to develop seasonal menus and specials.
  • Train junior staff on Mediterranean cooking techniques and pizza preparation.
  • Customer Satisfaction:
  • Handle guest feedback professionally and adapt dishes or processes to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role, with a strong background in Mediterranean cuisine and pizza preparation.
  • Proficiency in making pizza dough, working with pizza ovens, and authentic Mediterranean cooking techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Creativity and passion for culinary arts, particularly Mediterranean flavors.

Education & Experience

  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of [X years] of experience in a high-paced kitchen environment, preferably Mediterranean-focused.
  • Prior experience with pizza ovens (wood-fired, stone, or gas).

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 52 per week
