An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us with working within our friendly and dedicated Day Opportunities service located in Southsea, Portsmouth.
Support Worker – Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week – Southsea, Portsmouth.
(Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 0850-1610 & Wed 0850-1700)
Salary – £22,425 per annum (£11.50 per hour)

As a Support Worker based within our Portsmouth Day Opportunities team, you will be working with individuals with learning disabilities helping to engage them in a wide range of sessions, inspiring fun and creativity whilst encouraging independence and leading and allowing individuals to live, happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.
The Role:
- Supporting individuals to take part in a range of timetabled sessions.
- Liaising with session leaders to plan and organise sessions, resources and transport
- Assisting individuals with their personal, social and healthcare needs whilst maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting individuals to meet their goals and outcomes in health, wellbeing and independence.
- Working as part of a team as well as lone working within the community as needed.
- Support individuals with everyday tasks as required.
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience of working in a social care setting or having led activities for people with learning disabilities.
- The ability to work calmly and professionally whether alone or, as part of our friendly team!
- The essential capability to build a rapport with colleagues, volunteers and the families and carers of the people we support.
- Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable but training will be provided.
- Aspirations to develop skills at support worker level and beyond!
- Due to the nature of the role a car driver with access to your own vehicle and willingness/ability to drive a mini-bus, is essential.
