Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Technical Project Manager to drive the development and delivery of innovative features for our Software-as-a-Service platform, MK.IO. In this role, you will coordinate efforts across multiple engineering teams and oversee the entire product lifecycle—from roadmap definition and requirements gathering to stakeholder management, feature testing, and rollout planning. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on cutting-edge SaaS solutions in the media and streaming industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Coordination: Work together with teams and stakeholders to create project plans that support shared goals, adapt smoothly to changes, and help everyone stay on track.
- Prioritization and Work Sequencing: Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to organize and sequence work across multiple projects and programs, ensuring everyone stays informed while minimizing disruptions and balancing shifting priorities.
- Defining Goals and Deliverables: Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify project goals, ensure deliverables are realistic, and manage any changes in direction.
- Time Management and Scheduling: Support the team in organizing tasks, setting achievable timelines, and keeping schedules aligned while ensuring open communication among everyone involved.
- Quality and Timely Delivery: Focus on delivering quality results while providing support and guidance to meet deadlines confidently.
- Clear and Open Communication: Share candid updates regularly, keeping everyone informed and engaged, and ensure a welcoming environment for sharing ideas or challenges.
- Risk Management: Work with the team to identify potential challenges early and negotiate practical solutions to reduce impacts.
- Learning and Growth: Encourage feedback to continuously improve how things are done and create a positive, supportive space for learning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science or related field highly preferred
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of fostering cross-group collaboration.
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities
- Demonstrable leadership and team management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills
- Ability to adapt and to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
- Desirable
- Domain knowledge within broadcast networks and/or IP networks
- Troubleshooting capability with common audio-video delivery formats, such as MPEG and cloud deployment mechanisms such as Kubernetes
- Familiarity with tools/software needed for project management, especially Agile, CICD, Six Sigma, or Lean methodologies
Location
Southampton (UK), Hybrid required in office 2-3 days per week
