Keolis UK operates key transport systems, including Govia Thameslink Railway (the UK’s busiest rail franchise), London’s iconic Docklands Light Railway, Greater Manchester’s Metrolink and the award-winning Urban Light Rail network in Nottingham. Context
12-month VIE position in London within the Keolis UK Business Development Team, replacing a previous VIE. The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of quality financial and non-financial outputs, operational analysis, commercial and revenue analysis, and business intelligence and reporting for bids, acquisitions, mobilisations and other projects in the UK and Ireland, and remotely support other Keolis group companies around the world, through content creation and review, and modelling and analysis.
Missions
- Undertaking SWOT & PESTLE analysis
- Reviewing trends in order to forecast/estimate future changes
- Carrying out independent and desktop research to understand new & existing environments, cultures or concepts
- Writing and contributing to the delivery of documents and papers, particularly in the explanation of research, data and analysis
- Creating diagrams to complement text in documents & papers
- Developing simple analytical tools and models (for example in Excel) to aid decision making
- Documenting and explaining the underlying assumptions and methods and limitations of analysis
- Ensuring model checks are resolved
- Manipulating/creating graphs or reports in Excel
- Managing/interpreting large datasets, in particular of operational, performance, cost and revenue data
- Support the financial development of business cases, initiatives and base data, including the preparation of the financial model, and supporting models and documentation for bids and other projects
- Assist in the explanation of financial assumptions and identification and management of financial risks for bids and other projects
- Identify bid/project financial risks and opportunities
- Support the continued development of best practice processes and tools to be shared across international Keolis platforms
- Other activities typical to a business analyst role in a tender, M&A, research or project team
Profile
- Education: Graduate in Transport, Business, Economics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience: Working in the transport industry and working in project-based work environments (both desirable, not essential).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, teamwork and communication abilities.
