Visiting Music Teacher – Drums and Percussion

Required from January 2025

Part-Time: 2 days per week, currently Mondays and Tuesdays

We are seeking a peripatetic Music Teacher specialising in drum kit and percussion to teach 35-minute lessons to individual pupils. The lessons are on Mondays (into the evenings) and Tuesdays. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and thriving independent boarding and day school for girls.

The Music Department at Downe House encourages pupils to take an exciting musical learning journey with the opportunity to participate in inspiring musical projects, performances, bands, choirs, and orchestras. We have a dedicated team of specialist music staff who are committed to making music accessible to all students, whatever their ability, nurturing a love of music that will last a lifetime. The ideal candidate should have experience of Orchestral Percussion.

VMTs are directly employed by the school and paid £23.75 per lesson. We also offer mileage payments to those travelling more than 20 miles to the school from their home.
