Warehouse Assistant – Job Overview

As a warehouse assistant you will be part of a small team responsible for maintaining stock, and the movement of goods in line with the warehouse standards. You will also be involved with general yard and warehouse housekeeping and delivering orders. Duties will include

· Tracking orders, booking in, and receiving deliveries, reconciling delivery notes with purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies. Arranging credits and returns with suppliers

· Maintaining regular contact with the Accounts Department and the EPOS function to ensure issues with stock orders/deliveries are resolved efficiently

· Ensuring accurate recording of stock write-offs, following up with the necessary administration

· Minimising inventory negative stock, proactively resolving any potential issues

· Promoting stock-turnover by ensuring old stock is kept in good condition

· Working with the team on monthly and annual stock takes and reconciliation of stock

· Fulfilling off-site deliveries direct to customers

· Ensuring that site waste management is timely, effective and maintains our ethos of reusing/recycling

· Working at all times to minimise risks to fire, and to ensure that health and safety regulations are met

· Helping to move furniture and the like to set up rooms booked for events or workshops

· Fire warden and first aid duties as required

It is essential that applicants have the following:

· Clean driving license

· Previous retail experience would be an advantage however not essential as full training will be given

· Forklift License is essential.

· A thorough understanding of inventory control and stock movements

· Enthusiasm for providing the absolute best customer service

· Great, effective communication skills

· The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to work unsupervised with energy, pace, and passion

· A flexible approach, and a ‘can do’ attitude and to be a strong team player

· An understanding of workplace health and safety and risk awareness

This role is an integral part of our team and therefore we would expect the applicant to develop with us as we grow the business.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours to a rota, weekend working is required with regular days off provided during the week
