Morris & Perry Ltd are seeking to recruit an Experienced Weighbridge Operator / Transport Planner based at our quarry in Gurney Slade in Somerset
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Weighbridge Operator and Transport Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the weighbridge operations, ensuring accurate measurements and documentation of incoming and outgoing vehicles. This role requires strong communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and plan daily transport movements for the company’s fleet.
- Accurately record all incoming and outgoing transactions through the weighbridge system.
- Assist customers with the correct documentation of transactions when collecting aggregates.
- Have the ability to coordinate and book outside hauliers
- Liaise with the quarry team to monitor aggregate stock levels and organise deliveries accordingly.
- Support the management team in ensuring statutory compliance, customer care and delivery schedules are met
- To be able to communicate to customers and ensure that delivery timelines are met
Qualifications
- Computer literacy is essential, with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous experience in a similar role or environment is essential.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience with transport scheduling in asphalt and aggregates is essential
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to meet targets and produce timely reports.
- Understanding of operational responsibilities and environmental legislation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations

Pay: £12.50-£13.00 per hour
