Job title: Wiring Technician

Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire

Salary: £30 – £35,000

The Malloy Aeronautics Team:

Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.

About The Role:

· Manufacture, assemble and test electrical looms and harnesses for our unmanned vehicles.

· Install electrical harnesses and looms onto chassis bodies.

· Utilise a range of electrical and mechanical engineering skills throughout the manufacture.

· Report and respond to any failures quickly and safely.

· Training and assisting other staff as required.

· Proven dexterity and speed, building complex systems.

5 years residence in the UK – Ability to hold Security Clearance –

What you’ll being doing:

· Prioritise tasks to ensure product manufacture and delivery, to schedule.

· Validation of Bill of Material against drawing and existing stock

· Plan for future production requirements, pre-empting stock availability issues and stock holding to minimise impact on production and delivery schedules.

· Set up and build of loom and harness assemblies for systems such as power application, GPS, camera and motors, through manual techniques such as cut and strip cables, soldering and crimping, application of heat shrink as required.

· Visual examination and conductivity test of completed assemblies prior to Engineering test.

· Assist with the development of new capabilities and new systems or applications for the product.

· Installation of looms and harnesses into aircraft structure.

· Use hand and electrically operated power tools with precision and dexterity in a safe manner.

Essential Skills and Experiences:

· Able to demonstrate hands on experience in previous roles as an electromechanical assembly technician,
in an engineering discipline.

· Previous experience working with cables and harnesses and harness installation.

· Able to multitask and work in a high pressure and task-oriented environment.

· Consider process or product improvement in the course of daily duties.

· Competent in Microsoft Office applications.

· Manual dexterity.

· Ability to solder.

· Health and Safety awareness.

Desired Skills:

· Knowledge of wiring standards (e.g IPC / WHMA – A – 620)

· Previous experience of wiring, crimping and electrical and mechanical assembly techniques.

· Understand basic electrical wiring drawings and build sequence instructions.

· Stock validation and identify minimum stock levels for re-order triggers.

· Previous experience working with heat guns.

· Must be adaptable, flexible and open to change in a fast-paced business.
