Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Yardperson / Shunter Driver / Forklift Operator to join our team in Dumfries. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods around the yard, loading and unloading of vehicles, local collections and ensuring that the yard is kept clean and tidy.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a forklift to load and unload goods from vehicles.
• Shunt vehicles in the yard, ensuring that they are parked safely and efficiently.
• Deliver and collect vehicles from offsite.
• Keep the yard clean and tidy, ensuring that all waste is disposed of correctly.
• Carry out daily safety checks on the forklift, wagons and other company vehicles. Report any defects to the Line manage.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
• Assist with other duties as required

Requirements:

• A valid Cat C licence (Class 2.)
• A valid forklift license.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on safety.
• Good physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.79 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Work Location: In person
