Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding and supporting both children and fellow staff members.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development across all areas of the curriculum.
- Manage daily routines, ensuring that the needs of each child are met effectively.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss their child’s progress and well-being.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised nursery environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Observe and assess children’s development, keeping accurate records to track progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to foster a positive team atmosphere.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery’s educational offerings and overall quality of care.
Skills
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in a nursery or childcare setting is essential, with a focus on early childhood education practices.
- Proven leadership abilities to manage staff interactions and create an encouraging environment for learning.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage daily tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to engage with children positively, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for potential off-site activities or training sessions.
